New York Subway 1986 - 42nd Street and Times Square (Pacific Railroad).
Three Angels by the Park Coffee House opened Thursday off the Jefferson L train stop in Bushwick at the intersection of Starr and Irving. With the death of The Archive on the very same day, these angels stand poised not to let the hood get too thirsty. Good strong iced coffee, a large chill space with seating for 50, a backyard patio, free Wi-fi, and long open walls that seemingly beg local artists. Halseyblog’s coffee cup runneth over.
Showed up to the sold out Pearl Jam / Black Keys show at Madison Square Garden tonight with this sign and wearing a No Code t-shirt for good luck.
The Black Keys made this Ohioan proud, and Pearl Jam thundered through a 2.5 hour set peppered with gems like ‘Leash’ and ‘Crazy Mary’ and I was reminded why they’ve always been my favorite band.

Leaving the neighborhood again tonight (Tuesday) to catch Handsome Furs at Bowery Ballroom. Tonights show is SOLD OUT but they are also playing tomorrow night (Wednesday) at the Music Hall of Williamsburg and tickets are still available.
For those uninitiated, Handsome Furs are Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade and his stunning wife and beat-maker Alexei Perry. Together they are a MUST SEE live show, exhibiting equal parts of rock energy, raw sexuality, and dance party madness. If you really need more convincing, below is a tasty jam from when they played Mercury Lounge back in March of this year.
